Duo Refracta
Duo Refracta is a piano/percussion duo based in San Diego, California consisting of Michael Jones (percussion) and Shaoai Ashley Zhang (piano). They champion new works by American composers as well as major works from the 20th century modernist canon. They've worked closely with composers such as Sarah Hennies, Matt Sargent, and Kory Reeder. They've held residencies at the California Institute of the Arts, Chapman Univerity, and Bard College. Their recordings can be heard on Sawyer Editions.
